Procedure for getting approval for your project:
Obtain plans
These are the plans that will be provided to the city for your building permit.
What the city will do
The city of Brooklyn Park is supposed to have our "approved" stamp on it to approve your building permit. If you've gotten the permit without our stamp, that does not mean you don't still need it.
How to get the "approved" stamp from the committee
Provide your plans to a member of the Board (either electronic emailed to us, or a paper copy)
Allow time
Allow the Board 7 (seven) days to meet and approve or recommend changes to adhere to our building policies.
Approved?
Let your contractor know it is OK to begin your project.
Denied? Changes required?
Discuss the changes required with your contractor so you adhere to our Architectural Policy. Obtain a new set of plans and resubmit.
